NeuroImage helps educate on brain imaging techniques used in Alzheimer's.
We recently conducted some very successful onsite training at Wyeth Canada. Here's what Wendy Watson, Manager, New Products Insights had to say about us:
"Neuroimage Inc. proved very valuable to us recently in helping educate members of our Canadian head office on the various types of neuroimaging techniques used in Alzheimer's disease. Dr. Cotter presented to a group of 12 staff who all had varying levels of knowledge of imaging, ranging from none to moderate. He was able to give a concise and informative review of the various types of imaging, their strengths and applications, and provided specific examples which helped raise the general knowledge and understanding of the entire team."

OPINION
Role of Amyloid imaging in the workup of Alzheimer's disease
PET amyloid imaging looks useful as a screening test for early AD, especially due to its high reported sensitivity. On the other hand, I think it's critical that we do more research in this area before applying our knowledge in the clinical setting. Truth is, we do not exactly know the signficance of high amyloid found with PET imaging as it relates to Alzheimer's. Amyloid plaques have not been shown to correlate with cognitive abilities, and we can see high amyloid plaques in other dementias and in preclinical AD.
